Malvern Street Sewer Upgrade
This sewer upgrade project in Dunedin started with a temporary design and installation diversion flume to divert flow whilst exposing and protecting the 1943 sewer and installing the new floodway structure on the left of The Leith and then moving the flume. Over 280 m3 of concrete was placed into the stream bed all whilst keeping The Leith flowing past the site. This upgrade will now protect the sewer pipeline beneath the stream and reinforcing the surrounding area to protect and prevent further erosion and damage.
